A couple of firsts for us....

Here recently we have done a few new things around here. (please excuse the underline, no clue why?)

This weekend we went to our first couple of b-day parties of kids that we only know from church or work. That was super big for Cy. He was pretty nervous, but had a blast and really gained some confidence! Yeah for that!

Also we have a new friend in town and we played at his house and at the pool for the first time last week! Welcome to Nashville, Josiah!

Cy and Dad also attended Cy's first Titans game! Thanks Pep for the tix, Cy had a blast! They left the game a little early and Cy could not believe he had been somewhere that was also on TV. So fun to experience things for the first time through the eyes of a 3 year old.

Colby cheered at the first real football game that he can remember. Obviously from last year, being the ripe old age of 7 months, he did not remember much about live football. He loved it and continually yelled, "hut, hut."
Now the pic below is not the first toilet that we have had in our wonderful, one bathroom home, but it is the FIRST one that we have had that is not a hunk of junk! If you have ever used the potty around here then you know, that the previous potty had a terrible lid. You ALWAYS fell off of it. And considering I am the only girl around here, it mostly just bothered me, but finally the old toilet started to smell and off to H.D. we went! So come on over, use the potty and don't risk your life doing it!

Stay tuned for a big first on Thursday of this week!

Thankful Thursday!

Thankful that we woke up to these pics this morning. Won't trade anything in the world for the smile on Nate's face as he left for work to show the world (or just his hunting buddies) these pics!

I want to ride the ferris wheel!

All Cy has been able to talk about since the fair arrived in town was that silly ferris wheel. However, all of you that know him, know that he was NEVER getting on that thing! Well last night we headed to the fair after dinner and he was so excited he was about to bust! We took out a small loan, but made sure we did everything that looked like fun. The boys jumped in the bounce houses and slide down the inflatable slides. Then off to the horse ride and petting zoo. The horse ride as a 2 year was great, as a 3 year, total BUST! Oh well, Cy did enjoy feeding the animals.

Then we headed over to the "little ones" farming area. Colby loved it! He was so proud of his basket of goodies.
Showing off their freshly picked,(plastic) apples!
We even meet up with a fair friend that posed for a shot with us. Her mom had so much fun, she may now be a spokeswoman for "fair food!!"
Oh and the ferris wheel, after we finally saw it up close, Cy decided that " it might lose me, mommy!" So we avoided wasting money on it, but we did fall victim to the kiddie boat ride. Which Cy hated and finally Colby decided he would cry if it would just make his big brother stop!! Hey, it was bed time.

Thank you!

Over the weekend, Nate and I headed to S.C. for some time with a couple of doctors that he works with. The boys stayed here and I spent some great time just with Nate. The 6 hour ride was amazing without 50 questions and some crying. We went out on the lake and even attended a play. It was very relaxing. A special "Thank you" to all that helped with my kiddos and for all that had to take care of sweet Colby and his diaper issues!

No way! Yeah Right! Don't tell him that!

Being the mom that I am sometimes, I just want to protect my kiddos from disappointment. I know this won't ever change and that is what I was thinking one afternoon last week. Nate has such good intentions and fab ideas, but this one I was sure was not going to work. He tells Cy that we are going fishing in our creek. Great, but don't get his hopes up. I said and thought "No way, yeah right and don't tell him that," we are not going to catch anything in the creek, it is way too small. Crawdads are great and all, but come on NO real fish live in our creek!!! Okay I was wrong!!! WAY WRONG! So maybe we won't we have fish for dinner from the creek, but for a 3 year old and an 18 month old, these fish were monsters! Thanks Dad you always do surprise us! That is why we love you!

Yes even I got in to the action, this is just 1 of the 3 that I caught. The total for the hour was at least 10! So fun!!

Wordless Wednesday- Random!

Around here things can be pretty Random!!

Some nights we make "dilly beans" with the Walkers!
Yummy not sure who was more excited about them, Ashley or Nate?

And sometimes we swim at the bottom of the pool!

Pep's pool needed a new liner, so while most of the water was out, the boys used the deep end as a giant water slide! Not sure why the water looks so gross! Oh well!
